Here’s another favorite from my childhood. This one is great heated for a few seconds to make the caramel soft and gooey!
1 box German chocolate cake mix
14 oz. package of Kraft caramels
1 stick margarine
1/3 c milk
1 c chopped nuts
3/4 c chocolate chips
Remove paper from caramels. Prepare cake as directed, and pour half the batter into a greased and floured 9 x 13 pan. Bake for 20 minutes at 350F. Melt caramels, milk, and margarine, and pour over baked half of cake. Sprinkle with nuts and chocolate chips. Dot remaining cake mix over all. Bake 20 minutes at 250F, then 10 minutes at 350F. Cool.
**This must be baked at correct temps!
